Trained at the Royal School of Needlework with a First Class Honours Degree in Hand Embroidery, Lucy Martin is a couture embroiderer and educator based in London. Her work spans fashion, interiors, ceremonial goldwork and heritage restoration, with commissions ranging from luxury fashion houses to historic royal projects. A multi-disciplinary artist, Lucy creates bespoke, meticulously crafted pieces designed to become modern heirlooms.

Specialising in 3D sculptural embroidery, Lucy has designed and created a range of luxury embroidery kits, each inspired by seasonal blooms. In doing so, Lucy explores blending traditional techniques with a contemporary twist.

About Lucy

Lucy grew up in the idyllic countryside of the Peak District. She has been stitching as long as she can remember, from helping her mum make wedding dresses (aged 3) to now working on pieces for clients and companies such as Alexander McQueen, Beyonce, and royalty.

Her exceptional hand embroidery skills have won her a series of internationally acclaimed awards, and she is now responsible for the success and development of both the Hand & Lock School and its students.
